Kenny Hung

DES and its Earthstudio team will be participating in this exciting panel discussion - “The Impact EV Charging Has on the Future of Building and Energy Conservation Codes” (click here for event details), hosted by Deana Haynes of ChargePoint, Inc. Brent Takahashi, our associate principal and project executive, will be sharing his experiences and perspectives on the challenges and opportunities of EV parking implementation, from design and code compliance to construction logistics. He will also discuss the changes in green building and energy efficiency codes in California and LEED requirements, and how these trends will impact the adoption of EV and EV-Ready programs for new construction and building conversion projects.

Join us at GreenBuild 2022 in San Francisco on November 3!

The Moffett Towers II Campus in Sunnyvale, CA is one example of our team collaborating with both the developer and end users to successfully implement an EV-ready parking program.

Energy: Renewable energy generation, battery storage, and electric vehicles reduce carbon emissions.
Habitat: Native and adaptive planting material, rooftop gardens, and stormwater treatment benefit the urban ecosystem and help to mitigate the Urban Heat Island Effect.
Water: Stormwater mitigation and retention systems filter stormwater for non-potable reuse or release into the groundwater aquifer.
Transportation: Electrified public transit, drone deliveries, and bicycle boulevards promote walkability and reduce traffic congestion.
Community: Publicly-accessible rooftop parks, local art installations, and outdoor dining areas create spaces of social interaction and invest in the community
